We believe that every child should feel safe in school and in the community in which they live. We have an experienced team of staff who are available for students to see if they feel the need to seek advice or help. The Learning Support Unit (LSU) is available for all students but is most commonly used for intensive group and individual work, breakfast and lunch club, support for those with medical needs, extra support for children in care, integration programmes and support for general well being.
We have excellent links with external agencies and the support that they offer in the Academy setting is invaluable to a large number of our students.
At Excel we aim to help students develop and grow into young adults who are ready and able to go out confidently into the world.
