Notice of Bereavement

It is with great sadness that I have to inform you that Miss Finley 'passed away' earlier today, after a long battle with illness. She was a fantastic teacher of PE/English and Head of Year and this is terribly sad news.

Miss Finley has been a highly valued member of the 'Excel team' for a number of years and I know I can say with great sincerity, that she was loved and respected by many.

Our thoughts are with her family at this difficult time. Please do keep them in your thoughts.

Should your child need emotional support following this news, please do let their Head of year/Form tutor know as soon as possible.

Regards
Mr Darren Bishop, Principal

The week before half term, students in Year 7, 8 and 9 were all part of the Queens Platinum Jubilee celebrations in the Academy with a jubilee focused assembly and all enjoyed a cake and drink during their form time. Students showed a keen interest in the upcoming celebrations for Queen Elizabeth II which has been lovely to see. Students in Year 10 and Year 11 will celebrate this week. ... See MoreSee Less

Interview with Louise from Radio Stoke live!

A huge well done to Year 7 students, Armita, Alfie and Reuben who were interviewed by Louise on Radio Stoke live!

The students spoke about Excel’s fund-raising for Douglas Macmillan; advent calendar collection for the Alice Charity and their love of reading.

They were articulate, confident and excellent ambassadors for the Academy – huge congratulations! Thank you to Mrs Poole and Miss Corbally for organising!
